1. Stability

2. Turning angle


Due to the structure, the four-pivot electric forklift cannot achieve in-situ steering, so the turning radius is large, and the channel required for operation in the roadway is wider. In contrast, the three-pivot electric forklift can achieve 90° in-situ steering, making it lighter and more flexible to work indoors.


Taking the 1.5-ton electric forklift as an example, the turning radius of the three-pivot electric forklift is 1493mm, which is 357mm smaller than the 1850 of the four-pivot electric forklift. , The stacking channel of the four-pivot electric forklift is 3600-3700mm. It can be seen that the passage requirements of the three-pivot electric forklift are greatly reduced, which saves storage space; when working in the warehouse, because of the flexible steering, the driver does not need to use more energy to avoid the shelves, the operation is more labor-saving, and the labor intensity is reduced.


3. Procurement cost


The design of the three-pivot electric forklift is small and compact, and generally uses the European standard battery, which is expensive. At the same time, the 90° steering of the three-pivot electric forklift needs to use a slewing bearing that can support the rotation of the rear wheel, so the cost of the whole vehicle is high. The cost of the four-pivot electric forklift is lower than that of the three-pivot forklift because it adopts mature supporting facilities. Therefore, the price of a three-pivot electric forklift of the same tonnage is higher than that of a four-pivot electric forklift.


4. Application space


Three-pivot electric forklifts can save nearly 30% of storage space compared to four-pivot electric forklifts. In foreign countries, the proportion of three-pivot forklifts in 1-1.5-ton electric forklifts is larger than that of four-pivot electric forklifts. In the past two years, domestic users have gradually realized the advantages of the three-pivot forklift, and the application ratio has increased year by year.


5. Handling load


When selecting the type of forklift, the user should choose a three-pivot electric forklift when handling goods less than 2 tons in the warehouse; when handling goods larger than 2 tons, due to the limitation of stability, a four-pivot electric forklift can be considered.
