Reach Truck Specifications
Retraction of the mast causes the reach truck, an electric forklift, to move towards its centre of gravity and enable it to turn and lift objects.
Because of this characteristic, these forklifts perform better while loading things like storage racks and are lighter than counterbalanced forklifts. They can also manoeuvre in aisles that are ±2.68 metres narrower without obstructions.
However, in order to store or retrieve pallets from a racking unit, the machine is positioned in front of the unit load and the mast extends outward, simplifying operation even if the mast and prongs resemble those of a counterbalanced forklift. Over ten metres of load can be lifted by certain forklifts. Installation of support devices can facilitate operations at the highest level.
Therefore, reach forklifts are currently the most commonly used machines in warehouses.
