Someone asked whether it is better to add water or antifreeze to the water tank of a diesel forklift.

What is antifreeze and what are its advantages?
Antifreeze is a coolant containing special additives. It is mainly used in the cooling system of a liquid-cooled engine. Antifreeze has excellent properties such as antifreeze in winter, anti-boiling in summer, anti-scaling and anti-corrosion all year round.

In addition to antifreeze, antifreeze also has the following advantages:
Anti-corrosion function: The engine and its cooling system are made of metal, including copper, iron, aluminum, steel and solder. These metals will corrode and rust over time when in contact with water at high temperatures. Antifreeze not only does not cause corrosion to the engine cooling system, but also has anti-corrosion and rust removal functions.
In fact, forklifts can use tap water, but ordinary tap water is used all year round. The water contains mineral components, especially calcium and magnesium. In a high temperature environment, these minerals will react with metal parts and form scale that is difficult to remove, which will affect the normal operation of the vehicle cooling system.

To protect the forklift, antifreeze is used without such concerns. It not only has anti-corrosion and anti-scaling properties, but also can prevent freezing and cooling. Antifreeze can prevent the coolant from freezing and bursting the vehicle's cooling system when the vehicle is parked in the cold winter, and can prevent "boiling" in the summer. If the freezing point of antifreeze is not a concern in the summer, water can be added to the water tank, but pure distilled water can be added to prevent boiling water minerals from depositing on the wall of the circulation pipe.
