Forklift Operation Procedures

(1) Check the vehicle

(1) Before forklift operation, the appearance shall be checked, and fuel, lubricating oil and cooling water shall be added.

(2) Check the starting, running and braking performance.

(3) Check whether the light and sound signals are complete and effective.

(4) During the operation of the forklift, check whether the pressure and temperature are normal.

(5) After the forklift runs, check the leakage and replace the seals in time.

(6) In addition to the above contents, the battery forklift shall also be inspected for its circuit according to the relevant inspection contents of the battery forklift.

(2) Getting Started

(1) Before starting, observe around and confirm that there is no obstacle to driving safety, and then sound the horn before starting.

(2) For vehicles with air brake, the brake pressure gauge reading must reach the specified value before starting.

(3) When the forklift starts, the driver should first confirm that the goods are stable and reliable.

(4) Start slowly and steadily.

(3) Driving

(1) When driving, the height from the bottom of the fork to the ground shall be 300-400mm, and the mast must tilt backward.

(2) Do not lift the fork too high when driving. When entering or leaving the operation site or driving, pay attention to whether there are obstacles above. When the load is traveling, if the fork is raised too high, the height of the overall center of gravity of the forklift will be increased, which will affect the stability of the forklift.

(3) After unloading, lower the fork to the normal driving position before driving.

(4) When turning, if there are pedestrians or vehicles nearby, a signal shall be sent and sharp turning at high speed is prohibited. Steep cornering at high speed will cause the vehicle to lose lateral stability and roll over.

(5) The internal combustion forklift is strictly prohibited to skid when going downhill.

(6) Unless under special circumstances, it is prohibited to brake suddenly when driving with load.

(7) The brake shall not be used except under special circumstances when the load is traveling at more than 7 degrees and the speed is higher than the first gear.

(8) Forklifts shall comply with the traffic rules in the plant when operating, and must keep a safe distance from the vehicles in front.

(9) When the forklift is running, the load must be at the lowest position that does not hinder the driving, and the gantry shall tilt back properly. The load shall not be raised except for stacking or loading. When carrying large objects, objects block the driver's view, and the forklift should be turned upside down.

(10) The forklift is steered by the rear wheel, so you must always pay attention to the swing behind the forklift to avoid the quick turning phenomenon that often occurs when beginners drive.

(11) It is forbidden to turn on the ramp or drive across the ramp.

(12) When carrying goods downhill, the forklift shall drive backward to prevent the goods from falling.

(4) Loading and unloading

(1) When forking articles, the distance between the two forks shall be adjusted as required to make the two forks load balanced without deflection. One side of the article shall be close to the shelf. The weight of the forks shall comply with the provisions of the load center curve sign.

(2) The load height shall not block the driver's vision.

(3) During the loading and unloading of articles, the forklift must be braked with the brake.

(4) When approaching or evacuating objects, the speed of the forklift shall be slow and steady. The wheels shall not crush objects, wooden mats, etc. to avoid flying objects and injuring people.

(5) When picking up goods with forks, the forks should be put under the load as far as possible, and the fork tip should not touch other goods or objects. The minimum back tilt of the mast shall be used to stabilize the load, so as to avoid backward sliding of the load. When the load is released, the mast can be tilted forward slightly to facilitate load placement and fork extraction.

(6) It is forbidden to pick up goods at high speed or collide with hard objects with fork head.

(7) During forklift operation, personnel are prohibited to stand on the forks.

(8) Forklifts are not allowed to stand around the forks to prevent the goods from collapsing and hurting people.

(9) It is forbidden to use forks to lift personnel to work at heights to avoid falling accidents.

(10) It is not allowed to use braking inertia to slide articles.
