The causes of frequent failure of starter are:
1. The starter runs idle after meshing. This indicates that the one-way meshing device is slipping or damaged, the shock absorber spring is broken, the rotor and stator are rubbing, and there is a local short circuit in the magnetic field coil or armature coil winding.
2. Slow and weak operation. In addition to the low temperature, which makes the lubricating oil thicker, the resistance is large, and the battery capacity is insufficient, the main reason is inside the starter. The armature and magnetic pole may be rubbed due to loose bearings, the excitation or armature winding has a local short circuit, the brush is worn too much, the brush spring pressure is insufficient, the line contact is poor, the brush contact resistance is too large, and the commutator surface is burned or dirty.
3. The starter magnetic wheel and the flywheel magnetic ring are not meshed well. The flywheel gear ring is not meshed well. The flywheel gear ring is deformed and broken, the gear and gear ring center lines are not parallel due to improper assembly, and the electromagnetic switch magnet stroke is improperly adjusted.
4. The starter gear and the flywheel gear ring are bitten and cannot be disengaged. The gear surface is rough and the meshing is too tight, the drive device is stuck on the starter armature shaft, and the electromagnetic switch contacts are sintered.
5. The starter is not running well and making abnormal noises. If the starter is not easy to start when the car is cold or hot, it proves that the fault is inside. It is easy to start when the car is hot, but weak when the car is cold. It is good to idle when the car is cold or hot, but weak after meshing. Generally, the battery is insufficient. Press the start button. If the starter does not turn, release it quickly and check for smoke and heat.

There are four reasons for abnormal noises in the starter:
a. The main circuit of the starter is connected when the forklift drive gear is not engaged in the gear ring, and a gear-clicking sound is emitted.
b. When the two teeth of the forklift drive gear and the flywheel gear ring are against each other, the main circuit of the starter is connected, and a gear-clicking sound is emitted.
c. After the starter switch is turned on, the starter housing shakes. This is caused by loose fixing bolts, and the machine should be stopped and tightened.
d. When the diesel forklift is driving, the driving gear and the flywheel collide and make a sound of teeth hitting each other. This is because the distance between the end face of the driving gear and the edge of the end cover does not meet the requirements. The positioning screws on the end cover should be adjusted.
